iPhone 4 (Series One phone: Blackberry Bold 9700)
8GB memory. GPS. Bluetooth. Wi-Fi. Compass.
Retina display. 5MP camera. LED flash/torch.

The widescreen retina display on Sherlock’s phone allows him to look in incredible detail at any evidence or photography he is sent and its completely touch screen applications make quick work of any task he is confronted with, sliding on and off screen in much the same way as memories and facts in his mind palace. Sherlock has also upgraded his Series One laptop to an Apple Mac making both his phone and computer Apple products.

4) The John
Nokia N97

Read more about John’s phone in our Series One post.

5 & 6) The Irene
Blackberry Pearl 3G and Vertu Constellation Quest
For our full post on Irene’s Vertu click here.

Irene uses her petite and compact Pearl 3G when doing light work and dealing with less tricky customers (and also for looking at photographs of consulting detectives in sheets). Her £17,000 Vertu is only to be used in series business - after all, it’s her protection.

Anonymous asked, "Do you know what that suit that Sherlock is wearing in the pool scene is?"

It’s part of Spencer Hart’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection.

His shirt was from Dolce’s mainline collection.

Anonymous asked, "Hey! You guy previously mentioned trying to obtain a Sherlock-y coat pattern for all us crafty people. It's kind of a long shot, but the people operating this blog seem to be rather good at tracking down things so I figured I'd ask. Know where one can obtain wool tweed similar to the one the coat is made out of? Thanks! Love the blog, by the way."

Hello!

Donegal yarns have a wonderful, high quality range of Irish tweeds available to buy on their site. Here’s a coat made with their yarn. As you can see the finished product looks lovely (and quite similar to Sherlock’s coat we think). We recommend the Aran Tweed or Celtic Tweed.

Hope that helps!

jamesbonds asked, "Hi! So I know you made a post about Sherlock's scarf after season 1, but this season it looks a bit different. I don't know if that's just me, but it seems sort of striped in season 2. Do you know if it's actually a different scarf or not? Thanks. :)"

It is indeed a different scarf. It’s by Hugo Boss and is from their A/W 2010 collection but it’s extremely hard to find images of it which explains why we haven’t posted it yet.

We know thanks to Ray Holman (the costume designer from the pilot episode of Sherlock) that Sherlock’s original scarf was by Nigel Hall menswear. Then in Series one it was by Paul Smith, as we’ve posted here.

A Study in Phones
1. The Sherlock - Blackberry Bold 9700
Blackberry Bold mobile phones are known to be the perfect phone for business and are brilliant for multitasking. They feature an impressive GPS application, perfect for navigating your way around the streets London - unless you already have a GPS in your head of course. The 9700 is a great phone for any busy consulting detective who doesn’t have time to waste!
2. The John - Nokia N97
John’s (slightly scratched) Nokia N97 was a gift from his sister Harry and is engraved on the back with “Harry Watson, from Clara xxx”. It was also the source of John’s original wonderment over Sherlock’s deductions about him. The N97 homescreen is fully personalisable, so everything you need will be safely held in one place. Perfect for any organised ex-Army type.
3. The Anthea - Blackberry Curve 8900
The Blackberry Curve is as brilliant for business as the Blackberry Bold. However, it features a back-lit keyboard and trackball so you can see and feel what you’re doing even in the dim light of the back seat of your bosses car whilst kidnapping people.
4. The Jennifer Wilson - iPhone 3GS
Jennifer Wilson was once the owner of an iPhone 3GS, complete with pink cover to match her pink suitcase, pink shoes, pink nailvarnish and coat. The phone became, according to Lestrade, ‘the phone from the study in pink’ and was recreated by Moriarty to look the same as hers in The Great Game. It’s the perfect phone for juggling a string of lovers and a job in the city. Also pretty good for flirting with Consulting Detectives.
5. The red London phone box
This is here for a joke, honestly. But John did recieve a call from Mycroft whilst inside one and it became a tiny little jail cell for him for just a little while. They also double up as public toilets at around 2am.
